Kathmandu — Nepal has maintained its position at 176th place in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday.
In South Asia, India continues to lead, although it dropped one place to 135th. Nepal holds the third position in the region, while the Maldives remains steady at 171st. Bangladesh and Bhutan are at 184th and 186th respectively. Sri Lanka slipped one spot from 197th to 198th.
At the global level, Spain has moved up to first place, becoming the world’s number one team. France has risen to second, while Argentina, previously at the top, dropped two places to third.
The updated rankings reflect the current performance and competitiveness of national teams worldwide. Experts note that Nepal and other South Asian teams’ stable positions highlight both their progress and the opportunities for further development in the region.
