The Nepal national women’s cricket team has secured a thrilling 3–2 victory over Malaysia in the five-match T20 International (T20I) series. Nepal sealed the series on Wednesday with a commanding 5-wicket win in the fifth and final match.

This result mirrors Nepal’s 2023 tour of Malaysia, where they also defeated the hosts 3–2 in a similar five-match series, underscoring Nepal’s growing consistency and strength in women’s cricket.
Strong Bowling Performance Restricts Malaysia
Malaysia won the toss and opted to bat first in the decider, posting 103 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Malaysian captain Winifred Duraisingam led the charge with a composed 40 runs off 46 balls. Mahirah contributed 19, while Ainna Hamizah Hashim added 15 runs.
Nepal’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Kabita Kunwar shining in the death overs. She claimed 3 wickets in the final over alone, finishing with figures of 4 overs, 16 runs, and 3 wickets. Rajmati Airee also impressed with 2 wickets for 15 runs in her 3 overs, and Rachana Chaudhary chipped in with 1 wicket for 16 runs in 3 overs.
Composed Chase Leads to Series Victory
Nepal successfully chased down the 104-run target in 18 overs, losing 5 wickets along the way. Vice-captain Puja Mahato top-scored with 23 runs off 24 balls, anchoring the innings before being bowled by Nur Alya when Nepal needed just 2 runs for victory.
Former captain Rubina Chhetri played a vital role with an unbeaten 15 off 15 balls, while Kabita Joshi remained not out on 1. Earlier in the innings, Ruby Poddar scored 26 off 25 balls, Kabita Kunwar made 14 from 19 balls, Samjhana Khadka added 11, and Indu Barma contributed 8 off 13.
