Kathmandu, october 01 – West Indies signed off the Unity Cup T20 International series with a commanding 10–wicket victory over Nepal in the third and final match, played on Tuesday night at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE. Despite the heavy defeat, Nepal claimed the three–match series 2–1, recording a historic milestone by beating the Caribbean giants twice earlier in the week.

Nepal Struggle with the Bat
Put into bat after losing the toss, Nepal failed to post a challenging total, getting bowled out for just 122 runs in 19.5 overs. Opener Kushal Bhurtel top–scored with 39 runs, while captain Rohit Paudel added 17. Sandeep Jora (14), Kushal Malla (12), and Gulshan Jha (10) were the only other batters to reach double figures as the middle order collapsed under consistent pressure.
West Indies pacer Ramon Simmonds was the pick of the bowlers, tearing through Nepal’s batting line–up with 4 wickets.
West Indies Openers Seal the Game in Style
Chasing a modest target of 123, the West Indies openers produced a blistering performance. Amir Jango smashed an unbeaten 74 off 38 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes, while his partner Akeem Auguste struck 41 not out from 29 deliveries.
The pair guided West Indies to 125 without loss in just 12.2 overs, leaving Nepal’s bowlers helpless and sealing a resounding 10–wicket win.
A Landmark Series for Nepal
Although Nepal were completely outplayed in the final match, the series will be remembered as a historic breakthrough for the Himalayan nation. Nepal stunned the West Indies with a 19–run victory in the opening game before registering a massive 90–run triumph in the second.
This marked the first time Nepal defeated the Caribbean side, proving their growing strength and potential in world cricket.
Conclusion
West Indies’ emphatic win in the final match salvaged pride, but the overall series belonged to Nepal. Winning 2–1 against a full–member cricketing powerhouse like West Indies is a monumental achievement for the Nepali team, boosting confidence ahead of future international commitments.
