Manchester, September 20 (Saturday Night) – Manchester United sealed a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Chelsea in a dramatic Premier League encounter at Old Trafford. Goals from captain Bruno Fernandes and midfielder Casemiro powered United to an important win, while Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah struck late but couldn’t rescue his side.
The contest was filled with twists as both teams finished with 10 men on the pitch. Chelsea suffered a huge early blow in just the 5th minute when goalkeeper Robert Sánchez was shown a straight red card, leaving the visitors with a numerical disadvantage from the very start. United capitalized immediately, with Fernandes breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute to give the hosts the lead. Casemiro doubled the advantage in the 37th minute, putting United firmly in control.
However, the game took another dramatic turn in first-half stoppage time when Casemiro himself was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card. United were reduced to 10 men, setting up a tense second half with both teams level in numbers.
Chelsea fought hard after the interval and finally found a breakthrough in the 80th minute through Chalobah’s well-placed strike. But United’s defense held strong in the closing stages, securing their second win of the season.
