Colombia’s historic win against Spain

Daniel Munoz scored the decisive goal to give Colombia a historic win over Spain in a friendly match. Colombia defeated Spain by 1-0 in the London Stadium on Friday night.

The goal scored by Daniel in the 61st minute of the game was enough for Colombia to win. This is the first time Colombia has defeated Spain. In June 1979, Spain A and Colombia U23 met for the first time. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Spain A and Colombia met again on July 8 of the same year. The game ended in a goalless draw. Since then, the senior teams of Spain and Colombia have met 3 times.

The first friendly match on July 2, 1981 ended in a 1-1 draw. In the match on February 9, 2011, Spain defeated Colombia by 1-0. Six years later, the friendly match on June 7, 2017 ended in a 2-2 draw. After 7 years, these two teams met.
